The overall objective of HMLO is to enhance the ability of the Afghan communities, sensitize them and enable them to tackle their own economic, social and environmental problems for sustainable community development.

  • To work for social development, women rights and empowerment, gender-based violence, child protection, social uplift, rehabilitation and development.
  • To promote education with Special Focus on Girls’ Education
  • To voice gender equality & women empowerment, and Address Gender Based Violence issues in all sectors with special reference to most marginalized and vulnerable.
  • To carry out work for the eradication of poverty and physical needs and in particular but without limiting the generality of the foregoing, for the relief of suffering out of famine, earthquake, pestilence, epidemic/pandemic, war or any other large scale emergency or due to inadequacy of group of national, social or economic resources
  • To improve the participation of local community in exploring the natural resources of the area and to utilize them for their economic stability in general and empowerment of rurally poor especially women through literacy and vocational training focusing on poverty alleviation.
  • To ensure access to clean drinking water & quality sanitation facilities and Improvement of community physical Infrastructure.
  • To enable the community in development of local level institutions and assist them in undertaking community based welfare and development interventions.
